Alisal Creek Watershed Workshop Registration
August 24, 2026 – 11AM to 2PM
Landowners, growers and agencies within the Alisal Creek Watershed are strongly encouraged to attend an Outreach Workshop hosted by the Central Coast Water Board’s Irrigated Lands Program to learn about the impacts of sediment-laden runoff from ranches in the Alisal Creek watershed and discuss the development of a cooperative watershed-based approach to solve this water quality problem. The workshop will be held on August 24, 2026 from 11AM to 2PM.
At this workshop, you will learn about:
- Alisal Creek watershed water quality issues.
- Potential cooperative watershed-based solutions.
- The benefits for growers and landowners that participate in this cooperative effort.
- The potential consequences of not participating in this cooperative effort (e.g., ranch-level discharge monitoring and reporting).
Background
The Central Coast Water Board has been made aware of ongoing sediment-laden irrigation and stormwater discharges from multiple ranches in the Alisal Creek watershed. Preservation, Inc. is assisting their grower members with compliance and will co-host the meeting. More information: www.ccwqp.org. Let’s work together to solve this water quality problem!
In-Person Attendance is Recommended!
The workshop will be held in-person with an option to observe the meeting via Zoom. Virtual attendees will not be able to actively participate.
