Central Coast Water Quality Preservation, Inc. (or “Preservation, Inc.” as we are known locally) is a farmer-directed nonprofit that assists Central Coast farmers in complying with regulations related to the Clean Water Act. We work with farmers, regulators, and others in the community to bridge the gap between clean water and healthy food.
The Office Assistant provides customer service to our farmer members and helps keep our office organized and running smoothly. Our small office environment includes 1 to 3 additional Preservation, Inc. staff (depending on the time of year), plus a group of other friendly small-business workers (not affiliated) who also rent office space in our building.
Responsibilities
Answering phone calls and returning voicemails (questions from our farmer members about invoices and compliance)
Responding to or redirecting emails in the office Inbox
Organizing/preparing invoices and payments for Accountant
Maintaining office space, supplies, and equipment
Perform weekly small postal mailings, and less-frequent larger mail-outs
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Spanish desired but not required)
Computer skills – Required
Excellent email and word-processing (MS Word)
Some spreadsheet (Excel) and Acrobat
Computer skills – Desired

MS Access, website editor, Powerpoint
Professional, enthusiastic, and customer service-oriented
Ability to work independently
Associates or Bachelor’s degree obtained or in-progress (Desired)
Job Type/Details
Part-time/Non-exempt, 10 to 20 hours per week, beginning 8/1/22 or when filled
Pay: $22-$27/hr, depending on experience and skills
Location: Watsonville office on Main St.
Work must occur between 8am and 5:30pm, however exact hours are flexible
